The thing about "just move away from areas where natural disasters are likely" this time around is I feel like "the mountains flooded" isn't really registering with people.
Have (elderly) cousins in Asheville... and no one in our family has been able to reach them. No idea how they're doing. Seems not great.
Huge parts of NC are just totally cut-off from power, roads, cellular. It’s terrifying.
There is no incentive for Bibi to turn back. He clearly doesn’t care about killing hundreds of thousands civilians. Nearly 80 years old. He could probably drag out any trials for so long he’d be dead before they are resolved or at worse he’d get house arrest.
Put in more bulbs this week. Hyacinths, daffodils, and english blue bells. It’s weird to think of them just buried in the ground now and waiting for Spring. I hope the squirrels or groundhogs don’t dig them up but I’m a big fan of groundhogs, so if it helps one get through the winter, it’s ok :) 🌱
Was just at Ramlet al Bayda. People are sleeping on the beach. On the sidewalks. Some people walked here from Dahiyeh. Some said they’ll try to flee to Syria tomorrow.
