There is a word for someone who refuses to recognize the humanity and identity of Jewish people. It applies to both sides, full stop. I am sick of it, and it pains me when my gentile friends — perhaps you, dear reader — write it off just because the other side is worse.
It's easy to get desensitized by the awful rhetoric of recent years, but I'm stunned that, in the year 2024, I must choose between the Republicans who don't think I'm really Jewish if I don't vote for them, and the Democrats who don't think I'm really Jewish if I'm not a Zionist.
