Weird assumption that immigrants from often highly conservative-values countries with strong Catholic beliefs (eg: Haiti), including intolerance of homosexuality, anti-abortion and a strong sense of masculine hierarchy are all going to vote for the pro-choice, pro-lgbtq+, pro-equality woman.
Apparently so...
Okay. New to me! :)
I'm reminded of Milan Kundera's Professor's observation in (I think) "Immortality": a book's essence is utterly different from a film's, but they're close enough for people to think books can be adapted. The character thus writes an unadaptable novel. He calls it "The Unbearable Lightness of Being."
Exactly this. I stopped using Insta when video became the prominent medium. I want time to explore an image, look at structure and power. Video doesn't allow that.
That said, what video is good for is showing dance moves, motor skills, physical techniques that kind of thing. But for a specific type of information it is terrible. That type of info is called writing.
The real problem with video is it takes so much longer to get basic information across. Text is incredibly time efficient for learning new stuff.
Reminders of what a twat Johnson was are popping up lately.
