I feel like federal judicial clerks are probably the least-likely late-20somethings in the country to have tried and enjoyed ChatGPT, but of course some significant luck of the draw there.

We’ve entered vibezone and the vibes are bad; not just for generalized techlash reasons but for the very specific reason that judges can use (and like) GBS, and judges shouldn’t use ChatGPT.

FWIW, I’ve certainly come around on the import of GBS. I was guilty of overfocusing on what it says about inputs and mostly ignoring the very distinguishable nature of the outputs.

Yeah, I think that’s right. Deep at the core there’s something very militarist and controlling. (And of course pre-NIL at the college level also literally sharecropping, at best.) (Bad sport to grow up loving…)

(If it is representative, suspect it’s because when you’re coaching 100 guys hierarchy is a necessary tool and the default for many; when you’re coaching 10 motivation and empathy matter a lot more.)

I’d be curious how representative this is? But to their credit (Duke alum here) Roy, and before him not coincidentally Dean, have always been pretty solid politically.
