A lot more people took things seriously when the government and media encouraged them to. I've managed to stay COVID free this whole time by taking the recommended precautions and I have to say the hardest part by far is the social ostracization not masking, testing, or anything else.
Sorry for the pedantry, but surely those (very sensible and essential) measures _reduce_ covid, not stop it? I'm worried that talk of stopping it underplays the challenge.
I just love that the free test program is supposed to restart "late September". It's the 25th; wtf are they waiting for?

I work for the NHS, COVID is no longer an instant sick leave and also counts towards our sick days. We are penalised for staying off with COVID to not infect our patients
