The question of whether or not to have children implicates life’s deepest, most vexing questions.

“(admittedly troubled) world” I could not in good conscience bring a human being into this world. The Editorial Board can call it pessimism if they like, but to me it’s a clear-eyed, rational conclusion.

Today's Atlantic newsletter includes several pieces on the topic, including, "The Real Reason People Aren't Having Kids," which is clickbait ofc but the reasons are many, many, many. So many pundits, so much desire to find *one* thing & much need, it seems, to find women w/o kids are unhappy.
