Consider Creation and what would be involved in creating a world. Explore how a being that doesn’t change (immutability) or has unlimited power (omnipotence) can still be seen as personal? Can a God that cannot change can relate to humans who change constantly.

I was totally put off a lovely job in a beautiful school solely because of that niche A-Level spec! Sorry that I can't help - but very relieved not to be teaching Edexcel A level!

Aborted my trip to exam forum. Was stuck on Europe's biggest car park - the M25! 45 min journey was turning into a 2hr one! Pulled off at next junction and headed back by country roads! Cataclysmic rain followed!!

Just recovering from last night's wonderful Open Evening. Always lovely to engage with primary school pupils. Today's poem Astrophysics Lesson by Ade Hall.

Astrophysics Lesson

I took an orange and a plum
To demonstrate the Earth and Sun;
held in place by gravity -
Our little planet, you and me.

I grabbed some grapes for all the stars
And cast them out so wide and far;
Distant suns and foreign moons
In all four corners of the room.

The wonders of the galaxy
Spread out before class 2BT.
'Where did they come from?' someone cried;
'From the fruit bowl' I replied.

Today's poem is Rain by Raymond Carver ... yes, I'm giving in to it, curling up with books! Plans cancelled!

T.S. Eliot focuses on the spiritual and existential importance of being present, suggesting that understanding the nature of time can lead to redemption and a connection with the divine. 🧵 Full poem here www.davidgorman.com/4quartets/1-...

I forgot to post this poem while at the philosophy festival, where some debates focus on time and our relationship with it. How does our experience of time shape life? Does recording it leave us empty, or should we embrace its fleeting nature? T.S. Eliot states something more profound #poemoftheday🧵

At my Philosophy festival, missed the three sessions with Will Hutton due to clashes! He ends up joining our table for lunch, and a lovely conversation ensued!
