I'm only about 10% of the way through the book, but it's a really good read. Definitely recommend it to anyone who is remotely interested in the site that used to be Twitter.

It has to be a real blast to watch every four years as some asshole threatens to blow up your entire life, while not being able to participate in the process that determines if that asshole is granted said power.

The immigrants are mainly in the United States under temporary protected status, which the executive branch can grant to people whose home countries are in crisis.

This is always the quiet part in, "they should just pick the most qualified person," the assumption that a black person cannot possibly the most qualified. You see it in hiring, you see it in education, you see it in entertainment. "How on earth could a black woman be the best actor to play Ariel?"

I still can’t believe the defense was, “no, he said shit house countries!” And that it ducking worked!

There is a certain logic to what he was demanding, but at the same time I wouldn’t trust him with $4 let alone $400 million.

I kinda want to watch the whole movie again, but at 1x speed.

Here’s hoping no one does.
