I was not prepared for the random noises and screams of middle schoolers. There was an ambulance in the shower that is now just guttural screaming and growling as he dries himself off...
Mediating fights is getting harder with the bigger kid weighing almost as much as I do...
He told me he was interested in one of the high school pathways programs today (he is in 7th) and I was pleased at this initiative. But I've found I have to acknowledge with interest and support - and then let him sort it out for himself. This is hard for me.
Big was in the advanced math class last year, and he did fine in the math part but crashed in the actual class environment. He is doing great in grade level math now, no drama. Also - he loves to re-read old favorites. I share your same struggle about this.
