Star Trek friends, followers, and mutuals, does anyone have any thoughts on the TNG episode "Sub Rosa" they'd like to share? I'm recording a podcast review tomorrow, and I have no audience responses at all.
Why didn’t Wesley get to inherit the Howard tradition? Tee hee
Honestly? I unironically LOVE Sub Rosa. It's a great adaptation of a Gothic Romance in a sci-fi setting, feels both spooky and oddly romantic, and let's Beverly be a sexual character on her own terms. Plus, I love cheese in my trek. This one ticks all the boxes for me.
thoughts? no. feelings? soooooooo many, and none of them positive except that it’s a great episode to hate-watch. it feels like a season 1 episode- “weird rapey Scottish ghost episode” belongs with “weird rapey racist African planet episode,” not Lower Decks and Eye of the Beholder
