Today in research: the dog I thought belonged to an elderly lady is actually the younger girl's dog. Tried to Google that particular 19th century dog's name and instead got all sorts of info about Princess Diana's mother. I remain very confused, but also amused. 😆
If I had to do a second uni graduate degree, it'd probably be landscape architecture or Conservation.
One of my workmates once worked in painting Conservation, so this morning I asked her about paper conservation and I learned a ton! (Mind you, I don't know loads about Conservation, but I listen to a podcast that talks about it and I use archives somewhat regularly to look at old papers.)
One of Tolkien's* greatest contributions was making fantasy respectable. There was plenty of fantasy written before, but often it was only for children and was dismissed as frivolous. LotR* made it acceptable for adults. *and Lewis

You could say that I mostly write about people in my research, but these past few weeks I've also spent a lot of time writing about horses and dogs. Not sure if I'll finish the piece about animals in time for my self-imposed deadline, but eventually it'll be there for people to hopefully enjoy.
