We take for granted our expertise in a known context. We respond effortlessly and adequately to most of what comes our way as it's all so known to us. Few surprises. Then, a new school, and everything requires deliberation and thought.
A number of schools locally allowed shorts after boys at a particular secondary came into school wearing skirts during a heat wave & made national news (shorts were previously not part of the uniform policy)
