Because awards aren't worth anything half the time, nothing more than popularity contests between arguing tribes. The awards I've won give a quick PR buzz and then mean nothing. A letter from a reader that likes my work is better than that. And I've had those from non-award winning works.
The poster wasn't the only thing I got yesterday. Thanks to Jason Joiner and Jamie Woollard, I finally gained the last figure in my loose Vintage Star Wars collection - the incredibly rare Vinyl Jawa! I have already told Tracy that's it now :)
Great meeting at Showmasters today, enjoyed seeing the plans for the new museum and discussing next years plans with my co-conspirators - and I got this beauty back from them, after it went to Cardiff to meet Christopher Lambert, who forgot to sign it the last time he was over... :)
The finale of Billions was everything I wanted it to be. Almost every thread tied off - although still no explanation on how Bobby wasn't arrested... Amazing show. I'll miss it terribly. Well done all cast / crew and @briankoppelman.bsky.social / David Levien for seven incredible seasons.
