As an ex-student of biology, I have always felt closeness toward Aristotle in contrast to Plato, and despite Bacon and the whole Enlightenment. Now I can't get over the latest encounter with him. Can't decide whether I am too ignorant and backward or he is so farsighted. No idea 🤷‍♂️

Do you do zooms with friends? It is not the same but better than nothing. We were doing a lot of zooms with friends during lockdowns but mostly forget about it these days.

I believe this should be an undergrad thing and in graduate education, doing philosophy should be a more systematic and conscious effort, aka it should be more methodic. Learning how to philosophize should not be like bumping your head into walls constantly until you learn to avoid them. I believe.

Also, I want to rant a little about the lack of methodology education in graduate philosophical education. My experience is that most philosophers think that teaching/learning how to do philosophy is all about some formal logic and argumentation. And you learn by doing it by trial and error.

Also, I believe that the ongoing debates will present a good opportunity to study the open science movement.

I still believe that is a good thing. Now, I am planning to learn more about it. I am still wondering if it is possible to do my future PhD with open science practices, considering my PhD hopefully will be in a philosophy of science department.

I was unaware of what a hot debate was going on around the Center for Open Science when I was sending the post below. Also, I was very naive and still very naive about the open science, not knowing much about it except believing it is a good thing.
