Whoa, this fixture has gone entirely sideways, the match officials are pulling the players off the pitch because of some shitty fan behavior
That’s the economic case in a nutshell: if your business model depends on indentured servitude, you shouldn’t be in business
Atlético putting all 10 behind the ball within 5 minutes of the match starting at home is a very “the suffering is necessary” kind of set up
The flooding in NC has taken up a lot of my feed, which just made me all the more worried about the places that took a direct hit from Helene and yeah, it’s bad
Report: For Tampa Bay, Helene was the worst storm in a century. Tampa Bay’s regulars — our barkeeps, retirees, refugees — all had the same reaction this week in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene... Surprise. Never seen it this bad. www.tampabay.com/hurricane/20...
It’s been 103 years since the famed 1921 direct hit.
Drone footage of Hot Springs, NC. Really awful, this is such a nice town. Note the woody debris piled behind the small bridge. This will have blocked the flow, increasing the amount of water going through the town. This is common in big floods, but not often modeled. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRW4...

No. More. Forced. Labor.
Incarcerated workers in California make as little as $0.08 an hour. Even recent reforms only raised that to $0.16 an hour. A new ballot measure aims to end forced prison labor in the state altogether. boltsmag.org/califor...
Prop 6 would amend the state constitution to ban “involuntary servitude” and prohibit state prisons from punishing incarcerated people for refusing a work assignment.
I continue to believe that more theaters in the US need to have this set up, the Surprise Film, I think it would clean up, a great reason to go to theater every week
The surprise film is VERTICAL LIMIT, an absolute turkey of a film. Packed house and it’s such a risible film that it turns into a group MST3K experience where we ROASTED the film live. Ended up being tons of fun
