We currently cover data for 80 countries making up 90% of global electricity demand, but we are still missing important countries, such as Saudi Arabia, Indonesia or the United Arab Emirates + many smaller countries – especially in Africa...
Our Ember monthly electricity generation data is used by many and free for everyone. We want to improve our coverage of countries to show more of the electricity transition, but national reporting and transparency are still lacking for such a crucial indicator...

New Ember data on US 🇺🇸 state electricity shows the full extent of the continued solar ☀️ build out in Texas! July 2024: 4,669 GWh (+24%) July 2023: 3,778 GWh To put this in perspective, it is almost enough to meet New York City's power demand of 5,739 GWh in July 2024.
