Disabled people are not acceptable casualties. Not during natural disasters. Not during a pandemic. Not during climate collapse. Not for profit. Not for optics. Not at protests. Not at school. Not for election goals. Not for personal comfort. There is no justice without disability justice.
Great article talking about the history of scientific research into autism & how, previously, some researchers caused harm to autistic people by suggesting autists have no empathy & that their behaviour is sometimes alien. Literally sitting in a busy waiting room paying the Disability Tax while reading Bluesky. Doing my yearly pre-auth for meds for incurable medical condition, need bloodwork For Reasons, they keep calling me asking if it's done, BUT 2/3 of the labs on the list they gave me? Closed.
