a thing i like about mastodon is that it's not vc-backed and has a big emphasis on an open standard for self-hosting/decentralization... i know bluesky in theory has similar goals but the fact they are taking seed funding and not using a pre-existing standard makes me hesitant.

Yeah ive mostly been on mastodon but it feels like a lot of people are here instead so I might as well try it out for a bit!

i am here now! i am not sure how much i'm gonna be posting yet but i am determined to fully move off the other site and use this + mastodon.
