I've been active on Mastodon for a quite a while, and am comfortable without an algorithm. (and the 'skeeter' thing was tongue in cheek). I was just replying about why you had so many new followers all of a sudden. .
Well there are about a million new skeeters (it's that what we're called?) because Elon borked Twitter's blocks feature. And we were all advised to go follow lots of folks who seem interesting, to dilute the extreme weirdness in our 'Discover' feeds.
The only time I like an IPA is when choosing an alcohol-free brew. The bitter kind of makes up for the lack of booze flavor.
Yeah, pretty much. I don't understand it.
Incredible how the fucking wire services at AP can write a better summary of the Trump rally than New York Times political reporters:
He spent like 15 minutes telling Palmer stories, then started talking about the size of his driver. And there was a little kid in the crowd behind him, too. 😬
I could have happily lived my whole life without ever thinking about Arnold Palmer's genitals, but I was not so lucky. Trump is a deeply strange dude.
I left Twitter last summer and have really struggled to curate an adequate replacement. I tried Mastodon, Threads, going back to Twitter... Do I have have the energy to try again? Jury is out.
Maybe they're hoping to bring back that awful eyelash yarn that filled the craft stores 15 years ago.
