You know how rank and file (non-rich) far right psychopaths took over the GOP? By organizing and getting their people elected and appointed at every level of government. It didn’t happen overnight. The left could co-opt the Democratic Party to a similar extent if we had the same dedication.

One rather large difference: Because their philosophy is based on "damn right the rich should get richer,' it stands to reason there are fucktons of money on the right that goes a very long way to simply buying their way into and then over a political party. Which the left can't match.

Yep; that's straight up the point I was making. The reason it's a bunch of crazies now is the crazies got organized and seized the organization from the bottom up. The politicians themselves were the last step.

Yup, every election, every level, for 50 years. As opposed to refusing to vote for people until they solve your problem. That doesn't work. Neither does fucking over potential allies by increasing the chances that their opposition will get elected.

why don’t you ask DSA how that worked out for them

No, the left could not do that. This system is biased towards the right at several levels. If the left tried some shit like that, it would never get off the ground. Part of the reason rightwingers were able to do that is because GOP politicians wanted it to happen. The dems don't want to do that.
