started an inktober challenge over on instagram, pen & ink artist ioana pioaru has set a mystery challenge where there's an image to draw every other day which will combine into one piece. it was fun to use techniques i enjoyed using in art school that i haven't practiced since!
it was pretty wild reading the voter information packet and the "no" arguments for nearly every question being like, "thing bad >:( no vote >:( i will use ALL CAPS AND BULLET POINTS TO STATE MY ARGUMENT! signed, Someone Who Financially Benefits From A No Vote"
my two cents (plus tip) is if a business can't afford to pay a comparable wage to what they get with tips, or even just minimum wage, then they probably shouldn't be in business
this is the sentiment from a pal who works in the industry; they're a bartender largely working IN boston and can make hundreds in tips per night. they also have said kitchen staff make more than minimum wage "and always have" so some servers are against the disparity there i guess
