I will have to check a couple of those out. I must say, the modern ones are graced with impressive casts. (I didn't realize Charles Dance was also a director.) Thanks for sharing!

My daughter focuses one meal around rice when this happens to her....

I can't be turning into my gran. She was much too polite to bitch. I've reached an age where I realize my life is too short now to put up w/preventable bullshit. For me to experience BAD service as often as I do, it must bad for MANY/MOST. Are other folks conditioned to just accept that?

True that!

She looks lovely, but heaven help me, I will NEVER understand "fashion". If I were to ever attended an awards show or some swanky event, my luck would guarantee I sat behind someone in a dress with rabbit ear like appendages to block my view, as if the person's head wasn't enough.

I was so excited when I saw an internet article saying NCW's 2008 series New Amsterdam (& 5 other "Lesser-Known Fantasy TV Series") was streaming on Netflix this month. (Saw it when it was originally broadcast & really liked it.) I found the other 5 shows, but NOT New Amsterdam. Now I'm sad. 😞

Geez, I hate it when you have to suffer because you can't get an appt! Chronic & severe are not words you want to hear together, esp. w/migraine. I am so sorry. Hope you are on the mend.

Sounds like a migraine. I got my first at 43/44. Needing to vomit was an unpleasant, unexpected side effect. I stopped getting them when I began taking a couple of pain relievers (acetaminophen, ibuprofen, ect.) & drinking something w/caffeine each morning. Hope it's a one off for you!

I get it completely. Gotta admit, when I do an ASOIAF re-read, I skip a NUMBER of ADWD POV's. My interests are very mainland Westeros centered, though even a little Dorne goes a long way. (Arya may be the only thing in Essos I give a hoot about.)

I LOVE audio entertainment (podcasts, podfics, audiobooks), but am I the only one alarmed by the inability of some audio performers to correctly pronounce words (NOT in-universe names & terms) while reading aloud? Are oral vocabularies dwindling? If so, why? Does anyone else find it worrisome?
