Someone a few miles away has star link and a generator and is letting people contact family. He’s good but he’s completely blocked off from the outside world. Power restoration estimate of a week plus.
Definitely. It’ll get worse before it gets better in that regard. Things come up, get overwhelmed, and go back down again. Probably true for all services at this point.
On the upside, he lived off the grid for a couple of years and his nearest neighbors who he’s good friends with arean independent organic farm and a bit of a hybrid pottery studio/hippie commune. So, assuming there is anything left, he has resources nearby and the kind of people who would help.
Nothing yet. But based on reports in the area, it’s entirely possible he’s only accessible by air at the moment. We’re just kind of running with “haven’t heard from law enforcement so no news is good news…”
So glad you and yours are well!
We should care about disabled people. No, seriously, you would not believe the kind of ableist sludge spews out of so many people on the left's mouths when I try to suggest treating disabled people decently. Ask your lefty friends to wear masks, see how it goes.
Since I'm in the queue for the fourth An Ember in the Ashes book on Libby, I decided to dig through the old backlog on my Kindle library. The Honey Witch by Sydney Shields it is. Only 4% in, but digging the vibe so far. app.thestorygraph.com/books/f07175...#Reading#Books
