Today we paid our respects to Hepa, sailmaker, connoisseur of fine wines, and DJ extraordinaire. Even if I never got the boats and sails, he taught me a lot about funk and oenophilia. Miss ya, dear friend.

Yesterday my son brought Urho (‘brave’) to say goodbye. Urho is very old and ill. I’ve had many pets in my life, but this rescued Andalusian rat terrier or ratonero from my former life is one of the few I’ve truly loved. I’m grateful that I got to bid farewell before he embarks on his next journey.

As wonderful as it was to keep in touch with friends and colleagues in the ‘good old days’ of that other platform, I find this ‘lite’ use of social media refreshing. More reading and writing with less time for self-promotion which was what my employer expected me to do.
