(I also once overheard a motorcyclist at a truck stop near Youngstown, Ohio, asking someone how far he was from Indiana. That truck stop is within shouting distance of the Pennsylvania border. Flyover Country is real.)
I overheard that they believed that they would be arriving in Chicago momentarily. They were quite excited about that. I left the train in Waterloo, Indiana, which is 3-4 hours from Chicago on a good day. If they hadn't kept me awake for most of the night, I might have made them aware of that. 2/2
I was once on an overnight train from Pittsburgh to northeast Indiana. A few dozen teens boarded in Cleveland at around 2 AM. They didn't shut up for the entire ride. Just as we crossed into Indiana, a group of them went downstairs to the bathrooms and changed into formal dress. 1/

If only Eastlink had opened on schedule. Then Pike Place would be an easy train ride from that part of Redmond. Lacking Eastlink, the 545 bus is a decent bet. Parking near the market usually isn't great for one's disposition.
Last night around 6:30 PM, I casually mused that if I left the house right then I could be on the other side of the mountains just after dark. My wife knows me too well, because she instantly knew I wasn't quite kidding, and she suggested that that might be a bit silly.
