Yes, I agree. I did a trip through the south in 2021 and stayed in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and Mississippi. All were interesting and in a similar situation—there’s a stranglehold on political office that’s tough to break. It’s also elsewhere in the US for sure.
