A geranium, with its cluster of white flowers and velvety green leaves with curled edges, made hazy in the pic by the cell phone camera because of the bright white adds just a touch of the ethereal.

Sweet female downy woodpecker had been at a peanut feeder and was so startled when I opened the back door that she quickly flew to a nearby branch, where she laid low - literally - for a bit until she felt safe again. 🥺🪶🌱

Happy Weekend, fellow gardeners!🌞 Backyard pond pic to wish you all a most wonderful day today, whether in your own garden or elsewhere! 🌱

Next to wood gazebo, a pond, edged by rocks of various sizes, partially covered with lily pads, and surrounded by grasses and pond plants. As well, a number of trees and bushes with no shortage of garden decor in a setting where 10 years ago when we moved here, the entire backyard was just lawn.

With the sunlight streaming through its fluffy blooms at the end of its long stems, huge ravenna grass always commands attention in the neighbourhood garden in the fall season. In the bottom left, the back of an SUV gives an idea of the height of this ornamental grass. A wooden fence is in the bottom right, while at the top of the pic, the dark green leaves of a Norway maple provide a nice contrast to the showy flowers.
