I mostly agree in that it allowed us to have queer characters and people of color. But also it did make me laugh out loud when they revealed that sexism still exists. It felt very like, "Well we can get rid of the homophobia and the racism, but that sexism is loadbearing."
(also if you're into video games The Monk is a partial basis for the game Immortality, which reimagines it as a late 60s nunsploitation film)
