Agreed. But, if they did that the relationship between the USA and Israel would come to an end. Neither is prepared for that. Hence the stalemate.

It's pretty straightforward. The initial invasion back in October showed that from here on out Israel is no longer defensible. Sadly, that leaves no other choice. I'm not saying I agree with it but, the leaders of Israel clearly do.
