When I’m tempted to pick blueberries before they are ripe taking a suspect berry and rubbing it on my shirt takes the powder off and the berry will show as dark maroon or dark blue (ripe). I guess it’s still…purple? (or still red?)

Man…I do love nuts but not a fan of cashews. Peanuts are fine and maybe would be appreciated more if they weren’t so common. I think I like pecans the most, then almonds, then…not really sure. Black walnuts are pretty terrible.
Yes…you can grow almost anything in most of California. It would be a fun field trip but I probably can’t grow 90% of what would be there.
Luckily some folks are harvesting them commercially to make into fish meal for pet food. Unfortunately it creates an awkward balance where they support an industry but only if not over-fished but if not heavily harvested would quickly rebound.
