For as long as we have to have cars, I like this. Maybe we can abolish gas stations sooner. đ (#FewerCars and #SmallerCars still needed, obviously.)
As the CEO of an electric vehicle charging post maker, I admit that Streetsblog has a point about streetscape issues. But we're committed to getting it right.
One thing I still don't know is how buses are dealt with when an #OpenStreet#FewerCars = more business:
Businesses up and down Columbus Avenue say the Sunday car-free open streets has been a boon â despite what car drivers believe.
When I get Internet at home again, I'd like to dive deep on all the buses I don't ride regularly. But for today, #CongestionPricingNow!
The new segmented data allows everyone to see which sections of bus routes are most clogged by traffic â and, by extension, which would have benefitted the most from congestion pricing.
From what I'm seeing, the biggest upgrade is less steep ramps. I'm surprised that "shared-use path" is adequate for #ADA. Makes the widening to 10' not substantial. Also, hairpin turns are not great.
One bridge down, six to go. But it's a good start.
The real way to maximize the lifespan of the upper deck of the #QueensboroBridge#BanCars. But it takes 7 years to close 1 of 9 lanes to cars, so đ¤ˇââď¸

I had a feeling some of the claims MTA made were fishy. Such as âNYCT has more stations than any other subway network in the worldâ (Asian cities are taking a lot of NYCT world records now) https://pedestrianobservations.com/2024/09/21/the-mta-capital-plan-falsifies-subway-history/

Hatred is why politics never appealed to me, and why activism was hard to get into. This makes sense to me. đ It also explains a lot of NIMBYism.
âIâm just so sick of politics.â
On the more personal side of things, I'm definitely feeling this headline: Why Friendships Are Worse NowâEspecially for Introverts - Introvert Spring
If youâve been feeling like itâs harder than ever to make and keep close friends, trust meâyouâre not imagining things. Friendships, especially the deep, meaningful kind that introverts crave, areâŚ
