I didn't feel it was that much more gritty than the Disney version, unless there's things I'm forgetting. Setting it during certain historical events, though...
Body woke me up early yesterday and today, bleah. At least it means I get more done, I suppose. Or something.
Watched Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio. I don't know the original tale, but this was certainly an interesting take on it, especially considering it's set in I'd guess late 1930s Italy. There are notes reminiscent of Disney, but also notes reminscent of his Hellboy films. Worth a watch!
