Yeah this is the crux. It shreds our international reputation for - likely - no change in policy or practice.

And to make it easier and more attractive for women to have children alone. Plenty of women trying to find Mr Right, only to learn he’s not, and by then it’s too late, and the support systems to have a kid alone don’t really exist.
