I lose my shit every time I hear Nas say this... True story: @dearsarah.bsky.social and I took my YOUNG cousins visiting from India to this in theatres in July '16 with no knowledge Apatow's penis would be making THAT cameo. Most hilariously awkard minute of my life 🤣
Russian forces built a makeshift dam to cause flooding around the occupied city of Tokmak prior to Ukraine’s counter-offensive.

"We're designing infrastructure generally to the wrong standards for precipitation risk" Infrastructure projects funded through the IlJ using NOAA's Atlas14 data are "instantly decades out of date" #water #climate
NOAA is incorporating decades-old records into current estimates while excluding the effects of climate change.
Finally, I was concerned I might never work or exercise again if I got one, and it's actually not been an issue (the portability factor is really nice for playing in different modes and not disrupting others). If anything I just waste less time scrolling through garbage now. Enjoy!!
I highly recommend hunting for discounted gift cards and a way to do the Nintendo online subscription free (costco will include that with your switch purchase) - and then buying vouchers to stock up on your first games: https://www.nintendo.com/store/games/game-voucher-eligible/
Build your Nintendo Switch game library at a discount with eligible game voucher games. Some eligible titles are The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Pokémon Scarlet, Pokémon Violet, and Fire ...
I can't add more to the other Nintendo originals folks are highlighting - it will take me years to get through the catalog, but I also love that it has a few games I fucking love, like Katamari Damacy / We 💙 Katamari.
Mario Kart is awesome and great... I haven't yet dug into the countless mario games like Odyssey but have played demos and can't wait for when I'm ready.
Breath of the Wild is amazing... it's hard, in a classic, you might have to hit a wall many times before you get through it - way. But it rewards you for slowing down and being curious - and I love that it flexes this muscle of curiosity that carries over into daily life when I go on walks etc.
I was you 6 weeks ago until @dearsarah got my switch for my birthday. You won't regret getting one, though it's a great thing to put on hold until there's a horrid news cycle you're powerless against, because you might vanish for a few days!
Had a blast yesterday interrogating the latest USGS water cycle diagrams with my grad students - feels good to be teaching water the way I've come to know it
