Authors are not "content creators". "Content" is the stuff that's in your pocket at the end of the day. It's what's on the spam email you delete or the ad material that gets shoved in your mailbox and you recycle. Art requires purpose, intelligence, curiosity, emotion, memory, soul and heart.

If you rephrase it to "We will steal all your stuff and sell it unless you specifically tell us not to" why it should be illegal becomes pretty clear.

For fuck sake, writers, STOP USING AI ART. Stop using it on your book covers, stop using it in your book promos, stop using it to show what your OCs look like, stop using it as "inspiration," STOP USING IT. You want your artform respected, respect other artforms. There is no ethical use. None.

I'm so so so tired of this. esp when fellow artists say to my complaining "well you just *have* to do it" no I don't. I shouldn't. I didn't have to in 2009. give me a break.

Everybody has to self-promote now. Nobody wants to.
