Iām pretty certain you can. Iāll reserve judgement until we see the tables in the full game.
(12) the pregens are a zombie, an igor, a troll, a dwarf and a gargoyle. Feels to be lacking subtlety to me. Pantomime. Well produced. Workable. I could run this scenario at a con - it would be hard work without the right players. Iām not sure the full game will have replay value. (Iām done now.)
(10) thereās a nice bit of advice about Discworld being satire and not comedy. But the starter is clearly a full sugar loss leader to get you hooked. (11) the scenario is a bit over-wrought. Junior watchmen investigating a break in at the home for swamp dragons.
Itās a framework for improvised collaborative story-telling. It feels like an upgrade of www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/2... with a Discworld reskin. (9) as I say there may be more in the full book. what that could be apart from advice & tables of 100s of suggested traits/consequences I canāt see.
A game for children who love adventures The best stories are the ones you make up with your children. Thatās the thought behind Amazing Tales, a story making game of roleplay and imagination for chil...
It ALLOWS you to play in Discworld but doesnāt ENABLE you to. It relies entirely on the Ref and players. Itās a (good) framework for improvised collaborative story-telling but if you donāt bring knowledge and the spirit of discworld to the table nothing in the game play will give you that.
(6) this is just a quick start so there must be more in a rulebook. D20s and d100 are not used here but will be used to roll on tables in the rulebook (hopeful). (7) good illos, engagingly written. Good footnotes. (8) butā¦ IMHO itās too thin. Pass/fail make up your own outcomes.
Fail: consequence - fall in cistern. Trait - covered in something very mentionable. (5) thereās teeny tiny meta currency (luck) which allows rerolls Thatās it basically. Thatās all the system. (More to come changing busesā¦..)
(4) the system is - use trait to decribe what youāre gonna do. Ref tells you to roll d4, D6, D10 or d12 dependingā¦.. Ref rolls d8. You roll below ref you get a consequence and trait both described by Ref. āI use my origin as a Troll to climb the wall.ā (Roll a D4).
(2) itās a 180 degree turn from the GURPS system - which was probably the poorest fit of game to IP ever. (God knows how Phil pulled off that miracle.) (3) itās gone all ānarrativeā now with traits and consequences and no numbers on the character sheets. (Well, everyone has 4 luck points.)
