day 7: instructions unclear, got myself a lil snack (watched Ginger Snaps 3 (2004) which is honestly the best in the trilogy I think)
like I can’t speak for everyone but escapism for me is still having chronic pain but at least I can turn into a werewolf for funsies or pilot a mech
I think it’s so interesting how people justify not having disabled folks in fantasy and sci-fi because “escapism”…like bro are you escaping from the disabled people around you 🤨
day 6: werewolf blep! the flu/covid vaccine is kicking my butt, tho my love of werewolves remains stronger! watched Ginger Snaps 2 (2004) today.
This is a good 101-level refresher on the coded disability in so many monsters (and really, in villains). Monsters are usually built out of things the target audience dislikes and will be scared of, and this frequently means falling back on disease and disability.
shoutout to all my fellow sick friends who do everything while under unrelenting and debilitating pain and fatigue because I love us and I hope we get rest
day 5: werewolf kipperbutch dealing with a full moon in hell 💔 to match the teen girl rage, I watched Ginger Snaps (2000) #dimension20#werewolf
