Then I remembered that I don’t sleep well. Nighttime me is an entirely different creature that daytime me doesn’t communicate with at all. It was me. I did it. I assume.

I just spotted one of my trailing plants in my room all coiled up and hung totally differently to how I had it yesterday. I’m the only person who comes in here and I haven’t been messing with my plants lately. I was perplexed, to say the least…

Always appreciated! It’s actually really helpful and refreshing to have a calm, sensible interaction with someone who doesn’t immediately vibe with it but is curious, y’know? Makes me more conscious & enthusiastic about offering context without ever feeling defensive or combative.

I do from time to time. I just haven’t lately bc I’ve not been as active. It’s one of those disciplines that I often have to defend my involvement in, so quite often I will pre-empt that with a note in my posts about why. I get complacent at times, assuming the only people that see already know 😂

Mind blowing, really. Which in itself is depressing… to think that the concept of having any funding at all for the very thing you’ve dedicated your life to doing is such an out there idea that it blows your own mind to consider it 🙃

To have a medium that allows me to explore and apply both, whilst also indulging my fascination with history (particularly Victorian) & antiquity, is honestly the best thing I could ask for. Not only that, but my work gives me the ability to preserve things that may be important in future.

Absolutely. And if it helps clarify any further, taxidermy for me is a connection with nature & life/death that teaches me new things every single day. It is the perfect intersection of art & science which have run parallel to one another throughout my life- close, but always separate.
