Look, this is petty, and I don't even live in the city proper anyway, but having been exposed my whole life to the corruption and machine politics of Chicago I will admit to feeling a bit of schadenfreude at the moment
TBH, I'm a bit jealous of the attention - this is just weak amateur hour shit, and the same week Ed Burke went to prison for his colorful activities.
Everyone here in New York is rejoicing upon each headline demanding that Adam's step down. I'm just happy he's leaving and that someone else can take the office
New Jerseyan here. Same.
In comparison to the Daleys, Adams is serious amateur hour
i found out recently that someone made the impression to me that i showed up in Chicago "at the end," and what he was likely referring to was the fact that it was just getting worse in his particular view, and was improving in ways he found egregious. it was not fun to learn who this person was.
If you're talking about Adams, I hope he gets destroyed in this case. I am en ex-pat New Jerseyan who used to work in NYC and I got out before he took office. I've watched his BS from afar and its finally coming back to bite him.If you're talking about Adams, I hope he gets destroyed in this case. I've been telling people for years that Chicago is superior to NYC. Ehh they're both cool cities, but I preferred the comfortability of Chicago.
This might be recency bias from Adams being EXCEPTIONALLY bad, but at this point I feel like Chicago isn't even competing tbh
For someone across the pond, what's happening over there?
I assume the average Chicagoan is all like "You call that corruption? 🙄"
