I’ll go with you on Rude Boys, though their Britishness is beside the point, but Sparrow’s just a title with a knowing wink. The song, itself, is very American (for better or for worse, ha).
Need to check in on this! Thank you. Psyched for a deep dive on the Red Book!
Ugh. The politicking Gil-Galad.
I agree!
I hear that, but there’s plenty there to go on, or… don’t make the show, you know? Tell another story.
Re. Adar, I’ve enjoyed entertaining the age-old question “Do the orcs have culture,” and imagining a more fleshed-out story of their origins and motivations since I was a kid, and I appreciate how they’ve done that here. It’s one of the best written aspects of the show, I think.
At times, it’s like some character names and plot points were just fed to an AI that had no other knowledge of the source material
Agreed on all points. Really annoyed by the diminishment of both Galadriel and Elrond to basically teenagers.
There’s too much I absolutely hate about The Rings of Power to start listing, but two things I truly love are Sauron in Eregion and Adar and the more considered orcs.
Love this
