I haven't tried a piston filler yet, although I have lingered over the Ecos online a few times. My one gold nib is nice to write with, but my team of workhorses are steel nibs and I'm more relaxed about how I use them every day.
Thanks, I will look into that one. I've been using fountain pens regularly for nearly 30 years, but I'm not too proud to use a "starter" pen if it writes well.
Seeing all the pictures from the Pelikan Hub events around the world prompted me to look up their fountain pens on our local pen shop's website. All expensive, for me at least. Are there any affordable workhorse Pelikans that people would recommend? Also, what's the appeal with Pelikan in general?
Also love using my Lamys every day. The picture made me laugh too. 😄
All the ads I keep getting for "distraction free writing tools" kind of make me laugh. I like my gadgets, but when it comes to writing simpler is better.
Rhodia FTW
If I had just one thing, I'd probably say ginger.
The passive voice is an under-appreciated pleasure in the right circumstances. 🙂 ✒️
Thanks, and sorry to hear that. It's sad if the promise in the shop isn't borne out by quality when actually using it, but I like your reframing of "good ink brand, with disappointing side line in oens".
