Every few months someone will discover that school libraries regularly throw away books, and will post about how "heartbreaking" it is. It isn't "heartbreaking". it's collection management. Mass market books have a finite life. Sorry you had to find out this way. www.cbsnews.com/chicago/news...
Paperbacks and textbooks were piled up outside Carl Schurz High School, at 3601 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the Irving Park neighborhood.
So this is a road I drove once a month through the mountains of North Carolina back when I lived in the USA. And it's just gone.

The thing about "just move away from areas where natural disasters are likely" this time around is I feel like "the mountains flooded" isn't really registering with people.
