when she really felt terrible, i managed to get alexandra really excited by the runoff from tuna packs—which seemed like a best of both worlds for a few extra calories & liquid. and she’d sometimes be so happy about it that she’d forget she wasn’t into solids and she’d have at a little wet food.

but mainly i just hung out close enough to stick my arm under the bed and be like, “you can put your head on my palm if you want to. i’m here.” which i think helped us both? 🖤💙
