kinda the first, stems from how Reo became a demon and why Nagi went into priesthood. I wanna think on it more, but thinking that they used to be best friends but Reo dies and loses all his memories when he's reborn as a 😈 and Nagi thinks its a monster wearing his late crush's face to manipulate him
i keep reaching for my collar to play with a necklace forgetting I'm not wearing one. wierd, that habit usually only happens after I've taken which ever one off for the day but I havent even worn a necklace today to kickstart it

YES EXACTLY!!!! I do imagine the relationship starts out a tad violent, given there's a very angry demon imprisoned, but thats exactly what Reo's "revenge" ends up becoming as time goes on; teasing to get on Nagi's nerves instead of trying to stab him (before it becomes genuine/sweet flirting)

maybe its modern day and they ARE roommates because Nagi cant let a prince of hell roam free but he cant do anything but bind the devil to himself; but the church cant find out about this so they become bitter roommates and act like Reo's human before slowly falling in love
mmmmmm high priest Nagi x arch demon Reo who cancel each other out, Nagi cant exorcise or banish Reo, and Reo cant possess or affect Nagi with any magic; also they're forcibly bound to each other by some means. this is such a fantasy enemies to lovers concept but brain keeps saying "omg roommates 👀"
