I try to have compassion for people who just have no idea about trans issues b/c it's not easy to get our perspectives when pretty much all major news outlets have decided we're freaks. But it's the moment where they do get informed and decide not to care that sucks most

Most cis folks who think they're progressive want to be allies to trans folks as long as they don't have to change their behavior, language, or way of thinking Because that stuff is HARD. What they want is to appear more enlightened than the Real Bigots. But w/o listening to trans people.
