This story is an example where designing schools for autistic and other neurodiverse folks would make them better for everyone.
My class was indefinitely delayed for photos. But no teaching b/c 2/3 of class was getting photos with another teacher. Then I have to take all students to line up in lobby that has terrible acoustics with dozens of 8th graders. A sensory disaster for anyone! Painful for me. 2/3

One thing I love is the surprise to sí many that math can be ambiguous and doesn't have to be totally algorithmic. Now as a foster dad, I love seeing the boys' mathematical curiosities [ages 2 and 8].
I enjoyed it. There is a room of bat models used before all pro bats went digital. Includes a Clemente with barely any knob, a Honus Wagner, and a Bench with a bent handle that helped him fix a whole in his swing.

It wasn't super loud or a party where we sat. Several around us were friends and knowledgeable.
I have only been oncen w/ my spouse when last in Chi. We had a blast. It was incredible seeing some of the best in the world up close. Sophia Smith & Mal Swanson scored that match. DiBernardo was impressive as she does so much that doesn't show up on TV. Many players chatted & signed post-game.
