standing armies are bad, that's why we have a different armed force that we don't call the army and we give them army weapons to use on civilians.

yeah once you get a good ways into a run it just kinda turns into a magic eye picture

a nearly-incomprehensible morass of numbers and assorted colored pixels.

Twitter, Meta, and Google are all now suppressing the JD Vance dossier. Given that the executives of these companies gave explicit assurances to a Rep. house committee that they would not do this, it's clear they'll only do this for Rep. candidates and not Dems. Phenomenal system we have here.

Love how the manual for the original Sims had a list of recommended reading in the back: an idea I will 100% be stealing for future Devolver manuals.

A page from the manual for The Sims with a list of books to 'enhance your understanding of some of the background and social issues entertained in' the game.

The line on both Harris and AOC is that they’re stupid despite obviously not being stupid and their biggest political enemy being a man who literally believed Vince McMahon died because he saw his limo blow up on Monday Night Raw and immediately ran to the phone going “I’m so sorry such a loss RIP”

OpenAI is a weird company www.platformer.news/openai-murat...

I have a file on my laptop called “OpenAI is a weird company.”

The file includes links to stories about Sam Altman’s brief ouster from the company last year, of course, but also the many strange events that have happened around the company since: the departures of Andrej Karpathy, Ilya Sutskever, and other safety-focused researchers, including one who said he was fired for raising security concerns to the board (OpenAI denies this); tales of Sam Altman’s vast and opaque investment portfolio, and the OpenAI venture capital fund that he owned outright until earlier this year; the fake person who briefly ran OpenAI’s startup fund; the strange affair of the ChatGPT voice that sounded uncannily like Scarlett Johansson; the whistleblowers; the lengthy non-disclosure agreements and threats to claw back employee equity if they violated them.
