If youโ€™re one of the three people on Bluesky with an interest in Chinese football (Iโ€™m sure youโ€™re out there somewhere) this is definitely the thread for you! More people need to make a stand, and start migrating over here from the Other Place to post threads like this.

Great thread! Fingers crossed for more of this sort of thing on Bluesky. Are Langfang Glory a phoenix club or do they just so happen to play at the same venue as Hebei Fortune did?

Would have involved cajoling reluctant taxi drivers with hundred rmb bills they would inevitably not have any change for.

Almost had a heart attack when I flew back into China via Hangzhou last year and thought Iโ€™d lost my local SIM card (fortunately I found it deep at the bottom of my backpack) and was contemplating how exactly Iโ€™d get home to Shanghai without mobile access - mission semi-impossible!

The last of the typhoon debris gets carted away. As impressive as Chinaโ€™s shiny urban veneer may be, itโ€™s the ready availability of guys with carts that keeps it all shipshape.

I only use it now to reply to Chinese football updates and take potshots at the lamentable state of The Shanghai Daily but I donโ€™t think I can justify even that minimal a level of engagement any more.

Would strongly advise @bsky.app to be on red alert against signs of X-ification like this. This kind of malarkey needs to be eradicated without mercy.

Football/soccer. Plenty of billionaire owners but teams being relocated is almost unheard of.

If there's such a thing as the 'Shanghai Dream', its most common manifestation is a weary provincial guy driving his rented ride-hailing cab non-stop until he's saved up enough to get the hell out and back to his hometown.
