S282 from Derail Valley if it were built as a Gauge 1 prop during the first few seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends from plastic card and spare marklin model train parts.

A digital painting of a model steam engine made to look like a Thomas the Tank Engine character, with a gray face resembling a more feminine Gordon. The engine is large, has eight driving wheels, two small leading wheels, and two small trailing wheels. It is black with red lining and slightly dirty. 282 is written on the tender. There is a white nameboard on the track in front of the engine that reads "S282". The background is Tidmouth Sheds, a roundhouse. Dozens of small simplified figurines are seen out of focus in the foreground and background.
Variant. The engine is dirtier and has lost its red lining.

which L3? like between what two objects? L3 is not stable but it's probably less unstable than L1 and L2.

there would be this kind of tension between being kinda grounded and realistic, versus the fact that interstellar torch drives are so powerful you can basically skip the orbital mechanics once you have them and that's not very kerbal from a gameplay perspective.

i feel like the most kerbal way to have interstellar space travel is honestly not hard sci-fi torchdrives. i think natural wormholes could be better, because then the wormhole is just another celestial body you can reach using orbital mechanics. the core gameplay loop doesn't change much.

i love the idea of a setting dominated by normal-ish rockets and wormholes. i had my own version of this concept a while ago, but it allows for even lower tech because in that setting, wormholes just kind pop up naturally during solar system formation.

there is no L6. You probably mean L3 or L4; those are the stable lagrange points that don't require stationkeeping.
