Dang, this is great advice for people with ADHD, too. I read the texts and think to myself that I need to reply later, when I have more time/attention... and then I forget the person texted me and it gets buried until I'm too embarrassed to return it at all.
Ugh, sorry to hear it! Get some hard candies to mask the awful mouth taste. Also, I got a full on stomach virus on Christmas Day as a kid. My mom made sure I knew that I didn't ruin a holiday just by being sick. Hibernate, rest, and revel when you're healthy again.

And whether it's podcasts, books for writers, or a book coach, find someone or something that helps you navigate the publication process. Big presses don't take direct pitches from writers; you'd need an agent. Smaller presses are a toss-up. Academic presses will take a direct submission.
Take a look at Jennie Nash's "Blueprint for a Nonfiction Book" to help you put together the early stages and the proposal. Work with a book coach who specializes in taking academic writers to public audiences. Be ready for rejection! I've been rejected by dozens of agents and am still looking. 😊
